Beaufort U12 girls v Moyvane and v Beale

Beaufort U12 girls sponsored by Anthony Foley Decorating travelled to Moyvane on Tuesday evening and came away with a fine win-their first of the season.  Final score Moyvane 1-6 Beaufort 3-4. They played Beale in Beaufort on Thursday evening and again had a fine win. Score: Beaufort 3-12 Beale 3-2. Beaufort Juniors v Milltown-Castlemaine

Beaufort Juniors (B team) played Milltown-Castlemaine in the Mid-Kerry Junior Final in Cromane on Tuesday evening.  Final score:  Milltown-Castlemaine 2-6 Beaufort 0-10.

Beaufort began well and had a point inside the first minute from Edwin Kelleher, but they had to wait until the 20th minute to score their 2nd point from Jason Foley.  In the interim they missed 1-8 from play and frees.  They coceded a goal on 13 minutes and they were unable to pull this back.  Padraig Doona had a point just before half-time to leave the score Milltown-Castlemaine 1-2 to Beaufort 0-3 at the short break.  Ronan Ferris was introduced at half-time for Cormac O’Shea.  The two teams exchanged points from play inside the first 5 minutes with Padraig Hallissey scoring for Beaufort.  Edwin Kelleher had a point from a free to leave just a point between the teams.  A black card picked up by Jason Foley left them short one of their fittest players. He was replaced by the ageless John A. O’Sullivan.  The sides were level on 9 minutes when Michael Fogarty had a close in free after Padraig Doona was fouled.  Good work by captain Patch O’Sullivan led to a point from Edwin Kelleher to level matters again on 15 minutes. Beaufort U-12s v John Mitchels

Beaufort U-12s sponsored by Maurice Foley of MF Decorating hosted John Mitchels in the County League on Sunday evening last.  After drawing with Ballymac in the first game of Phase 2 Beaufort were hoping to get back on the winning trail and this they did in style.  Beaufort began well and had points from all the forwards, mid-field players and half-backs.  Mark Sheahans goal put the game beyond doubt in the first half.  The 2nd half saw Max Doyle score a fine goal and they ran out easy winners.  Team:  Patrick Galvin, Sean Kissane, Max Doyle, Ethan Coffey, Oisin Cronin, Mark Sheahan, Sean O’Brien, Jack O’Connor, Jack O’Leary, Niall Carey, Jack O’Brien.

Beaufort Seniors v Cromane

Beaufort Seniors sponsored by Maurice Foley of MF Decorating travelled to Cromane to play the locals in the County League.  Final score Cromane 2-7 Beaufort 3-11.

Beaufort played with the breeze in the 1st half. The first score came from the fist of full-forward Fergal Hallissey as Ronan Murphy put a free into the box.  They had their 2nd point of 3 minutes from a free from Ronan Murphy after a pick up off the ground.  Cromane had 2 points from play on 5 and 7 minutes. Good work by Francis Courtney put Padraig O’Sullivan through for a point and Francis Courtney followed with a point himself after combining with Edwin Kelliher and Fergal Hallissey. Wing-back Patch O’Sullivan joined the attack and scored a fine point.  Cromane had a free on 19 minutes.  Mid-fielder Ronan Murphy had a good point after quick movement from James Coffey and Fergal Hallissey put Ronan through.  On 28 minutes Ronan Murphy had a point from a 45.  Half-time score Cromane 0-3 Beaufort 0-7. In the 1st minute of the 2nd half James O’Reilly had to be replaced due to injury by Eanna O’Malley.  Immediately James Coffey had a goal chance but shot wide.  Cromane cut the lead to 3 points with a free on 5 minutes.  Wing-back Brendan Cronin joined the attack and was fouled, Ronan Murphy duly scored the free.  Great defensive play by captain Gerard Hartnett set off on an attack and he gave the final pass to Francis Courtney to score Beaufort’s first goal on 10 minutes. Cromane had 2 points from a frees on 11 and 12 minutes.  Ronan Murphy had a free when Fergal Hallissey was fouled going through.  Ronan was at the end of a fine move involving James Coffey and Fergal Hallissey to score Beaufort’s 2nd goal.  Fergal was fouled going through on 17 minutes, a penalty was awarded and Ronan Murphy scored it.  Beaufort were now ahead 3-9 to 0-6.  A quick free by Padraig O’Sullivan set Ronan Murphy up for a point.  Cromane had a point on 21 mins.  Beaufort introduced Jason Foley, Jeremiah O’Sullivan, Giggs O’Sullivan.  Ronan Murphy was fouled and Francis Courtney scored the free.  Dan Doonan was introduced as a sub.  Beaufort gave away a penalty on 27 mins which Mike Moriarty saved but was unable to keep out the rebound.  Dan Doonan had a point from play before Cromane had the last score which was a goal from play.  Final score Cromane 2-7 Beaufort 3-11.  Team:  Mike Moriarty, Michael John O’Connor, Gerard Hartnett, Padraig Hartnett, Patch O’Sullivan, Nathan Breen, Brendan Cronin, Ronan Murphy, James O’Reilly, James Coffey, Danny Healy, Padraig O’Sullivan, Francis Courtney, Fergal Hallissey, Edwin Kelliher.  Subs:  Eanna O’Malley, Jason Foley, Giggs O’Sullivan, Jeremiah O’Sullivan, Conor Joy, Dan Doonan, Padraig Hallissey.

Beaufort U10 and U12 girls

Beaufort girls sponsored by Anthony Foley Painting and Decorating were in action during the past week.  The U10s travelled to Legion and played very well.  The panel was Emily Kissane, Ciara Cronin, Meabhdh Kissane, Emma Kissane, Orla O’Sullivan, Aoibhinn Coffey, Lucy Breen, Tara Foley, Lola Eagar, Sinead Barrett, Ella Doyle, Ellie O’Leary, Kate Murphy, Roisin Farrell, Orlaidh O’Brien, Meave Coleman-Horgan, Nia Sweeney.
