Beaufort v Milltown/Castlemaine

Beaufort U16s sponsored by Killarney Credit Union played Milltown/Castlemaine in the Mid-Kerry Final on Saturday last in Cromane. Beaufort played with the wind in the first half and led by 3 points at half-time but lived to regret the wides they had in this half. They were also down to 14 players early in the half when they had a player dismissed with a red card. They 2nd half saw them reduced to 13 players when they had another player sent off but to their credit they kept in the game with only a point separating the teams as full-time. Beaufort had the chances to level the game if not win in but it was not to be. Beaufort’s outstanding player as was all year was Mike Breen who unfortunately was consistantly fouled and pulled down while going forward. Mike is a great prospect for the Kerry Minors and Jack O’Connor would not go wrong in bringing Mike in with the County for the coming year.
