Beaufort Seniors v Keel

Beaufort Seniors sponsored by Maurice Foley of MF Decorating travelled to Keel on Sunday last looking for their first points in the Mid Kerry League but unfortunately came away empty headed. Though Beaufort started the game well in the possession stakes they were unable to convert thei chances to scores with numerous wides. they had to wait until the 16th min for their first score a point from a free from Fergal Hallissey when Jerh O’Sullivan was fouled. Their 2nd point came from Fergal again when his goal bound shot was well saved by Stephen Cahillane and put over the bar. The 3rd score came from play from Francis Courtney after good defensive work by his team. Half time score Keel 0-5 to Beaufort 0-3. Beaufort had the worst possible start to the 2nd half when Keel’s wing forward rounded the Beaufort defence easily and finished to the net, they also had 2 points to give them a seven point lead. Beaufort had 3 more points but again Keel was able to reply with 3 of their own. Beaufort’s points came from Ronan Murphy, James O’Reilly and Francis Courtney. Danny Healy and Conor Breen were introduced for Cathal O’Reilly and Edwin Kelliher at half time and Danny’s pace added much wanted pace in the forwards. Courtney had a point from play and had a goal bound effort saved and put out for a 45 which Fergal Hallissey drove wide. Young Brendan Cronin was introduced in the 2nd half for the injured Sean Fogarty and Eanna O’Malley came in for Jeremiah O’Sullivan.  Team: Mike Moriarty, Padraig Hartnett, Darren O’Sullivan, Michael John O’Connor, James O’Reilly 0-1!
